If the code is not correct or the car key has not been programmed, then the key will not start the car. If the car keys are lost, we can now produce a new car key. BMW Transponder Car Key

BMW diagnostics software allows you to perform complete diagnostics of all 1995-present BMW models. Diagnostics is performed via OBD-II connector (which is located near steering wheel) or via BMW 20pin connector (only older cars, pre-2001). At the moment the software is only available to BMW dealers. This means that we are unable to use diagnostic equipment to programme the car keys at this stage. Developing software however, means that soon we will be able to use the advanced diagnostic equipment MVP Pro to programme transponder keys for all or many of the BMW model range.

If you have your car security code we will be able to provide you with a brand new set of keys cheaper than your car dealer. Your security code is located on the car security card which you should have been supplied with when you purchased your car. It is normally credit card sized and the code is usually a 4 digits.
We can also copy from a remote key to produce a normal key which will start the car but not have the remote control. Different cars have different systems for example VW has System 1 and System 2.

System 1 consists of two parts, the immobiliser ECU (engine control unit) and the control recognition of key and the engine.

Sysem 2 has the immobiliser integrated within the vehicle dashboards.

If the key is lost or damaged then a replacement transponder key will need to be programming.

The best thing to do in that situation is to call your breakdown number and they will advise you. In some instances, if the key is locked in the car, they will do their best to gain access to the car for you. However, this can in some instances cause damage to the car and if that is the case, the rescue person may suggest you might be better off getting a locksmith from Muswell Hill Locksmiths instead.
