All makes and models of cars are now fitted with a coded engine immobiliser system. The car key has a unique electronic code that matches a code in the engine management system. If the code is not correct or the car key has not been programmed, then the key will not start the car. If the car keys are lost, we can now produce a new car key. The car key remote control also needs to be programmed to the car.

BMW diagnostics software allows you to perform complete diagnostics of all 1995-present BMW models. Diagnostics is performed via OBD-II connector (which is located near steering wheel) or via BMW 20pin connector (only older cars, pre-2001). At the moment the software is only available to BMW dealers. This means that we are unable to use diagnostic equipment to programme the car keys at this stage. Developing software however, means that soon we will be able to use the advanced diagnostic equipment MVP Pro to programme transponder keys for all or many of the BMW model range.

So you have got a new 2007 Mini Cooper "R56" on order and you are wondering about that complex key fob that comes with it and how to open the car if the fob battery dies. It turns out Mini has cleverly fitted a key , that is hidden, into the fob and it can be accessed by pressing the silver button on the fob. |
|
|
This though should not be a huge problem because when the fob is inserted into the ignition, the key fob is charged by the Mini itself. A pretty nifty feature that should keep your key fob powered and ready to go for on demand "Mini Motoring" throughout the life of your Cooper.

Our car keys are cheaper than car dealers. If you have lost your car keys we should be able to help.
If you have your car security code we will be able to provide you with a brand new set of keys cheaper than your car dealer. Your security code is located on the car security card which you should have been supplied with when you purchased your car. It is normally credit card sized and the code is usually a 4 digits.
We can also copy from a remote key to produce a normal key which will start the car but not have the remote control. We can supply a remote control however, we would need to see a vehicle either side on site or at our North London Shop in Muswell Hill, North London N10. We can visit you on site anywhere in the North London area.TRADITIONAL METHODS AT MUSWELL HILL LOCKSMITH
Using new and old methods, we open, service, cut keys and repair locks both in our workshop and with our mobile engineers. When we visit your site, to gain entry with minimum damage, our locksmiths will make keys to locks and repair the old locks. We try to avoid the unnecessary expense of changing locks where possible. Another example of our work include making a warded key in order to work an old Church Lock. We have many year of experience in lock repairs and making keys to locks, which ranges from the classic car key barrels, safe keys to security special sectioned locks. We also have a mobile key cutting service where our mobile key cutting locksmiths can drop by your place of work or at your home and cut all types of keys. Our mobile key cutting service is available in the North London area. The mobile key cutting locksmiths carry an extensive range of blank keys to suit all types of locks. Different cars have different systems for example VW has System 1 and System 2.
