The best thing to do in that situation is to call your breakdown number and they will advise you. In some instances, if the key is locked in the car, they will do their best to gain access to the car for you. Since 1995 car keys have coded transponder chips within the keys plastic shell. A unique code within the cars management system matches the same code within the key in order for the car to start. The chip can get damaged or sometimes lost meaning the car will not start.
